The Conjuring Closing Title Sequence Analysis

Motion Graphics Design
Motion Graphic in Film Task

In this task, we have to pick a movie's opening or closing title sequence and analyze how its elements relate to the movie.

I picked the end credits of The Conjuring(2013) for this task. The Conjuring is a horror movie based on a true event, specifically the Perron family haunting in 1970, which the credits take full advantage of.
The end credits use an overhead projector style to show pictures as well as names of the casts, complementing the movie's 70's setting. It shows documentations of the paranormal event as well as the Warren's investigations. Each time the credits cut to the next, a new documentation can be seen placed on the projector. Some also have acetate sheets "turned" and laid on top of the documents to reveal the cast names.

The pictures used in the credits are mostly the real ones and not from the movie. In fact, none of the actors pictures are used. Instead the pictures of the real versions of characters are shown, but with their respective actor's names to show who played them.

These pictures, along with the accompanying eerie music creates unsettling mood throughout the credits.
